He brought us out that he might bring us in Deut 6:23 We want to learn how God deals with people and the processthat he brings someone through I think we have to recognize a few things about hwo Goddealt with the children of Israel. I. Hebrought us out A. hepurposes for things to change for us B. salvationis recognizing a new Lord and trusting him C. wantsto bring us out from under the bondage and slavery of Egypt/sin D. Godwanted his people away from the heathenish practices and idolatry of theEgyptians E. Hewanted them out of the rule of pharaoh F. Thereare things that God wants you separated from – and he is serious about it 1. Sin 2. Ungodlyinfluences 3. Slavery– you have a master/everyone serves II. Thathe might bring us in A. Thereis a time in our life when we recognize things in our life that are wrong andwe abandon them 1. thatbrings a time in the wilderness B. ButGod wants to replace it C. Wecant neglect the “bringing out” that God wants to do D. Butif we stop with that we are actually worse off than before in this life – nowwe live in the desert E. Peoplealways want to accuse “church” people of what we cannot do 1. thatis because they recognize, and it is the first step, that we have stopped somethings F. Butit is not about what we don't get, it is about what we do get! G. Youhear God telling you “yes” far more than we do “no” 1. But“no’s” irritate us far more 2. Illus:going through a maze and getting mad if each path had a “wrong way” sign. 3. Illus:finally finding a mate and being mad because we don't get all the rest 4. Butwhen it comes to our perspective… do we get mad when God tells us no? H. Hewants to bring us to: 1. Freedom- (maturity, purpose, truth) – a. Freedomon the piano 2. Prosperity- (confidence in what is true, endurance, rewards, rulership in heaven, eternallife) 3. Himself- to know Him! All this other isside benefits. It is not about thegifts, it is about the Gift Giver! III. But thereis a process in the middle A. Weusually don't leave very nicely or easily or smoothly B. Thereare plagues that persuade us that God is who he said he was C. Afterwe escape it seems to chase us, but over the red sea there is freedom – noegyptians D. Then….Throughthe wilderness – no disobedience yet – it is a journey! E. Godhad to bring them through things that taught them 1. Showedthat they could trust him very quickly in the journey 2. Tooka great deal of effort and time to teach them new ways 3. Preparedbefore they got all the blessing 4. Deut8:2 – to humble you and prove you to see what what in your heart, whether youwould keep his commandments or no 5. Thereis preparation! – of you! F. Weget soon discouraged because we don't understand often, and keep in mind, thatHis whole purpose is to bring us in! So, where are you at in the process that God takes hischildren through? - Saved?
